Well, I spent the first 21 years of my life in Cape Town, South Africa. I studied piano throughout most of my schooling as well as studying percussion for 2 years at a music school. Vocals and songwriting have however been my main passion. In my last year at school some friends and I formed a band together - "Rain". After the recording of a demo cassette and many gigs, we were signed to a South African record label and released our first EP. We received a few awards as well as charting in the top 10 of the South African Modern Rock charts. In 1997 I decided to leave Rain and then in 1998 decided to move to England and see what the rest of the world looked like. I have since gained experience across the broad spectrum of the music industry in the UK and Europe. In this time I took a break from performing live and learnt as much as I could about the working of the music industry and how that affects the artist.

Since starting back on the gig circuit (Nov 2002) I have played at venues such as Kashmir Klub (now moved to The Bedford), Betsey Trotwoods, Acoustic Trip (Camden) and more recently, REPLAY @ The Watershed (Wimbledon), West One Four and The Clapham Grand.

I have a very eclectic taste in music, which is spread over many different styles of music. Some bands and musicians have however inspired me, such as: Flemming & John, Billy Corgan, Sarah Maclachlan, The Damnwells, Verra Cruz , Jeff Moffatt, Dwayne Larring, Ben Harper and Tori Amos. Many of these musicians have inspired me by the way they look at music and life. The drive and motivation to express themselves through music and to strive for excellence in their art. Billy Corgan, while being interviewed said that he often feels that if a recording is not going to blow people's minds, then he was not willing to release it. That passion and confidence has really inspired and challenged me.

I am presently living in London
