Liselle as Chaplain & Missionary

I am a full time missionary, spending approximately 4 months of the year as the ASP Women’s Tour Chaplain, a volunteer role through Christian Surfers International.  The other 8 months of the year, I am based in Santa Barbara - see Santa Barbara Life.

I have been involved in leadership within Christian Surfers since 1994.  This included leading the False Bay Son Surf Club in Cape Town, South Africa (Christian Surfers South Africa), Contest Director for the Lifestyle Son Surf Series and heading up the London Christian Surfers club in the UK.  I helped on the United Skate Tour in Germany & Holland (organized by Walking on Water), as well as the role of Assistant Tour Manager on the Walking on Water East Coast tour (2007). 

Presently I help lead the Christian Surfers Chapter in Santa Barbara.

While traveling on the Women’s World Tour, I also see my role as that of encouraging and assisting the local Christian Surfers Chapters.  It is an honor and privilege to be able to connect with such a global family. 

I started as the Chaplain on the Women’s World tour in 2009 and continue in this role, serving the surf community.

Chaplaincy Cost Breakdown

Flights                    $1200 per event

Car Rental              $  600 per event

Living expenses     $  200 per event

Annual Chaplaincy Costs           $12 000

The Chaplaincy program is solely funded by individuals and is a voluntary service, which is endorsed by the ASP and CSI.  The chaplains rely on the generosity of others to be able to provide the chaplaincy program to the surfers and staff on tour.
